I really didn't need another addiction. Truly.

So why did I decide to pick up 'just a couple' of soaps for myself at Lush, while doing some gift shopping?

...because nothing's better, gift-wise, than something that says, "You are dirty and smelly. Go do something about that, wouldja?"

That's exactly why I gave you a list--a list which indicated a target expenditure of $12. ;) I knew there was no way you could go there with a massive sale on and not come out with something for yourself.

And me.

0:)

I work within 4 blocks of a Lush, and made the mistake of using it as a landmark for meeting a lunch date. Ah, well -- a gift for a friend and a 2-fer-1 for me wasn't too bad given the sale.

While standing at the register, I eyed the Legend Gift Box. $280. Buy 1 get 1 free. I told the lady behind me "Go halvsies in on it with you." She almost did it... said she would, except she'd spent $120 there the night before. The clerk said that they calculated the total savings on that deal at over $750.

Oy.

I have spent more than an hour smelling all the samples and then trying to compose different soap combinations. I tend toward the the neroli and other citrus scents because they are supposed to stimulate happiness according to aromatherapy. I particularly love the smell of sweetgrass though, and I don't find that one too often. I've been pleased to see that a lot of companies are switching to diffusers from candles to create scent rather than by burning candles and increasing particulates. Unfortunately, Zen_oven thinks of diffusers as another dust collector.

I like sage, strong natural mints, and spice in my soaps. 'Mudflats' is one I'm looking forward to, but right now I'm enjoying 'Devil in the Dark'. (Hey, it's one of my favorite ST:TOS episodes, as well as smelling good - I had to get it.)

Yah, I got nothin' here. I like the smell of new comics, so I can't cast any stones.
