kickahaSpoke with Grandpa on the phone today... well, it was rather a monologue, but I was told that his facial expressions indicated he heard everything I said.
It was much harder than I thought it would be, saying goodbye.
I told him that I loved him, that I thanked him for making a difference in my life, that we would be okay, and to go with my love.
A final "I love you, Grandpa" and he drifted off to sleep.
I need to finish this paper so I can fly up there.
Back to work.

Date: 2003-05-17 12:05 pm (UTC)The original deadline was last Tue, but they bumped it out at the last minute. So, I of course got slack. If I'd gotten more done, I could have already gone up.
Then again, I'm not getting anything done now...
