for every water pump I've had replaced, I'd have a few buck s for dinner ;) Those go all the time, and sometimes if it's been a while since the last one (which I *think* means 30,000 miles or more, but check on this) and you're doing work on the engine (not just the surrounding bits,but gaskets and pistons and so forth) it often makes sense to replace them prophylactically. Heh, heh.
Yeah, the list of things that have had to be done on this Jeep isn't too bad for a 10 yr car with 125kmi, many of which are hard driving (west coast mtn passes, desert summers, etc): water pump, wiring harness (Jeeps of the era are known for bad harnesses), brakes once, and for the most part, just general maintenance. 4WD is still good (knock on wood), and the engine, while making slightly worrisome noises, is still in good shape. I should have someone do an overhaul of the engine just to get it tuned, though.
