Khan's got to talk to the travel agent about the exact dates and times, but this is what I know so far:

  • We'll be leaving for San Francisco on either Sunday or Monday, in order to get our Visas.

  • We'll be leaving the U.S. either Monday or Wednesday, depdnding on how long it takes us to get our Visas.

  • There'll be a 7-hour layover in Singapore (!)

  • It's generally a 12 hour flight (or maybe a 24 hour flight, depending on whether we're counting time-zone funkiness). With luck, we'll be there before my birthday. :)

  • We're staying in Hyderabad for 3 weeks, and Erik will have weekends off for sightseeing. I'm on my own during the weekdays. eep.
And you may ask yourself: 'how did I get here?'

"Yipes! Safe journeys!"

Thanks! We start out on Sunday.

So, any word on your mother?

In classic Mom style...

She was supposed to be on her Tue morning.

I get a call from her Tue evening "Oh no, I changed my flight last night to *tomorrow* morning..." seems that an item she had ordered to take with her on the trip hadn't been delivered overnight like it was supposed to be... so she just shifted a three week business trip a day to accomodate. *shakes head*

So she left Wed morning.

Or so I thought. Turns out she changed it *AGAIN* to today at the last minute. She's now on her way.

I swear she lives in a completely different reality most of the time.

Wowsers.

I think Khan's company was alternately
  • bearly willing to wait for us to get our passports and shots

  • not comfortable with us being willing to stay over in San Francisco rather than do the entire Visa transaction by mail
I'm beginning to think that international business trips are just kinda wacky.
