Spam received this morning,
Dear Jason Smith,
I am writing on behalf of the German publishing house, /VDM Verlag Dr. Müller AG & Co. KG/.
In the course of a research on the Internet, we came across a reference to your thesis on "SPQR: A formal foundation and practical implementation for automated discovery of design patterns in object-oriented software systems".
As we would like to make your work available to a larger audience, I am wondering if you may be interested in publishing
your thesis in the form of a printed book.
Your reply including an e-mail address to which I can send an e-mail with further information in an attachment
will be greatly appreciated.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely yours,
Toolasee Marooodamoothoo

Gee, think I should reply? I mean, if I get it published in *book form*, it'll have a *wider audience* than if it's *on the Internet*! AMAZING!
Word of advice to the spammers though: if you're going to appeal to someone's ego and vanity, don't make them one of N addresses on the To: line. Just sayin'. It kind of dilutes the hook.
