Soap scum. We all hates it, yes we does. It builds up, and it seems like the only things that get rid of it are either an atrocious amount of elbow grease, or an atrocious amount of chemicals that go straight into the estuaries.

Not so!

Vinegar (or any mild acid, but vinegar is easy to get) works great at eating away at soap scum, but it tends to run off into the drain before actually accomplishing much.

Take one cup of vinegar, and add 1.5tsp of J-Lube. It turns into a thin vinegar gel. Slap it on, and voila, it sticks to the sides of the tub. Just be sure to rinse *thoroughly* before using the shower, as it's slicker than snot.

Thanks for posting that! I'm finding out I'm sensitive/allergic to a lot of household chemicals, not to mention the ecological problems you mentioned, so it's good to know of alternatives.

Sure! :) I'm going to try a bleach mix and see if I can make a gel out of that too.

Heh. Just make sure that you don't wind up with some kind of explosive. :)
