After a couple of nasty days up here of heat and muggy, and a couple of nights of waiting until the wee hours (2-3am) before the house cooled off enough for me to sleep, today we put in the AC units. It went *MUCH* faster than last year: I already had the wood window inserts cut to fit, and we already had a method for getting them placed and stable.
So of course today is gorgeously warm but not hot, and pretty darned dry. The box fans are making the place really pleasant, but now we're set for when the temp pops back up again later this week.
Also found that the trick to having iced coffee in the morning is to make it the night before, and put it in the fridge before bed in an airtight (or somewhat sealed) container. (Ain't I clever?) Previous attempts had resulted in bitter brew in the am, due to oxidation. This way it's ready to go when I roll out of bed, and wonderfully refreshing.
Bring on the summer, I'm aready for ya.
