Excellent post.

[livejournal.com profile] d_ormouse is a smart cookie.

Great rundown of how to get and remain involved in the political process *effectively*. Hint: it doesn't include screaming, painting your face, or venomous attacks on those who may disagree with you.

Excellent advice in the linked-to post, BTW! Going to print it and stick it on my fridge.

Think *local*, not national.

City, county, state reps. That's local. That's where most of the things that directly affect your life will be decided, not at the national level.

Yeah, but they said it could be used nationally too...

My local reps are basically who I voted for *woohoo* - its the federal elections that screwed me over :(

Thank you!

Thanks to both of you. Significantly more eloquent and efficacious than my own.

On the other hand, I had a delayed reaction. I'd promised myself not to read the news until this afternoon, and I held out until just before Kerry wimped out.

But, I'm taking your advice D_or, trust me.
