Wow. As someone with diabetes in the family, and more than a few friends with the disease, this is... promising.
Recap: Toronto researchers have done solid work towards establishing diabetes as a neurological, not an immunological, disease, and have developed a simple injection (directly into the pancreas) that completely eliminates Type 1 diabetes in mice for up to four months, one injection.
Wow.
