They like me! They really like me!

Well, it went better than I had dared to hope, honestly. I gave my talk on Thursday morning, and by lunch had two very serious offers for research collaboration. One of the main researchers in my field was there, and told me that he thought that my research was "the most promising and interesting approach (I've) seen in the field". Considering that I referenced his work in my intro and explained briefly where it was lacking, I thought this was rather nice of him.
So right now I'm on cloud nine, with a renewed sense of purpose to get the hell out of here with that PhD. My approach works, people like it, it stood up to peer review, and things are firing on all cylinders. I came away from the conference with several ideas on how to push the system in new and interesting directions, and more importantly, met some great people from around the world that share my research interests.
I love it.
Now I just have to *do* it. Heh.
