If anyone else reads DC, have you noticed their page ads for Final Crisis that look kind of like those inspirational posters? An image, and one word. Each image has a villain, and is predominantly one color.

Oppression (Brainiac): Green
Injustice (Libra): Yellow
Domination (Mongul): Red
Envy (Hush): Violet
Insurrection (Satanus): Orange

Now, anyone else notice that those line up kind of nicely with the new colors in Geoff Johns' spectrum of lanterns, if the word is considered an outcome of the corresponding emotion taken to the negative extreme?

Oppression - Willpower
Injustice - Fear
Domination - Anger
Envy - Love
Insurrection - Greed

I wonder if this isn't actually a lead up to Darkest Night, instead of Final Crisis. I realized that the ads don't actually say Final Crisis anywhere on them, I just sort of assumed that from the Libra connection. Now that I think about it though, a Darkest Night leadup makes more sense. Mongul is an obvious link, with the rings, and it would nicely tie together the major arcs they're playing with this year, as a run up.

Naw, no Sekrit Plan. :) (They told me to say that.)

I think you're definitely on the right trail. Except for the Final Crisis part. I totally think it's a Darkest Night teaser, and ...honestly, I'm more interested in that than I have been in Final Crisis. It's been a wacky ride so far, though, I'll give Morrison that. O_@;;

I think you're right on Darkest Night (see reply above). I just sort of ran with Libra's appearance and FC as the BIG THING right now. If it *is* a DN teaser, good for them for subtly leaking tidbits this far ahead.

FC has been interesting - more so since I found out that all the New New Gods (will the Doctor, in a few thousand millennia talk about the New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New Gods?) were all supposed to be black. The artists who wrote them into Countdown kind of... missed that directive. There was an intended racial discussion that didn't get to happen, but a new one took its place.

And yeah, pretty much anything Geoff Johns touches these days turns to gold. (Although I'm waiting for JSA to start moving again, and being less of a showcase for old and forgotten characters he's resurrected...)

PS. I like the idea that the latest Crisis du jour is relegated to a lead-up piece for DN. That gives me warm fuzzies. :D
