Baaaaaaa....

Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] georgmi

Rules:
* Post 3 things you've done that you believe nobody else on your F-list has done.
* If anybody responds with "I've done that," add another thing.
* Encourage your friends to paste this into their own journal to list the unique things they've done.

Since I have the same the-top-item-I-share-with-half-my-friendslist problem many of you do, I'll skip to...

1) Been hit straight-on in the chest with a 9mm round just fired from a handgun. And walked away.
2) Had a sunburn declared 3rd degree by an ER doctor.
3) Had a conversation with Tracey Ullman during a flight layover about my cat... and didn't realize who I was talking to until she walked away.

Heh.

I've done that.

Oh, I haven't actually done anything on your list, but you didn't phrase it in such a way that I _had_ to have.

Please check the careful rewording in _my_ journal. :)

Don't suppose you'd like to share the story on #1?

I thought you'd never ask. :D

I was at a shooting range in NC, and I was facing the targets when I get this hard *WHACK* in the sternum. Hurt like hell. I look down and I see something bouncing - I pick it up, it's a still hot 9mm round. I look around, and see one guy firing a 9mm handgun, so I approach him, and say "Is this yours?"

"Huh?"

"Is this yours? It just hit me in the chest."

"HUH?"

"You're the only one firing a 9mm, so it's gotta be yours, and the damned thing just hit me in the chest."

"buh... WHA??"

The guy was so flustered I just had to laugh, and went back to my group. I still have the round. Left a hell of a bruise. :)

Best guess, it caught a flat rock in the dirt berm behind the target, and came almost straight back.

So were you behind the firing line, or did the guy get his ass thrown out for breaking range discipline?

A buddy of mine once shot his brother the same way, though. Difference was, the gun was a Kalashnikov rifle, and it was a glancing head shot. 'Swhat you get for shooting abandoned cars at short range, I figure.

Does that count enough to make you add a new item, or shall I have the guy log on and provide the primary witness? :)

I was behind the firing line, about four stalls to his left.

Hell, I thwapped myself in the forehead with a BB once shooting at an oil tank. :P *tink* *OW!*

...so by the time you got to the range in NC, you should have known better, is that what you're saying?

Had the sunburn thing happen to me too.

Pale people, pasty pale people and sunlight... it makes the burning.
