I do not think that means what you think it means.

Over at the Panasonic site, looking at plasma sets (still).

They have the normal table of sets, with the handy-dandy 'Compare' checkboxes. So I check a couple, and hit the trusty old 'Compare these' button, and...

"We are sorry, but the units you have selected have different attributes and cannot be compared."

Uh... isn't that kind of exactly *when* I want to compare things?

Oy.

You are conflating "attribute" with "attribute value".

It's like if you tried to compare the Wangs of Joseph and Martha.

Because Joe has a Packard-Bell; what were *you* thinking?

On the bright side, you are looking at the correct maker--the Panasonic plasmas have been getting better reviews than their competition by a pretty wide margin for at least the last six years (because six years ago is when I got mine, with which I am still pretty darned happy, though I'd buy an HD model today rather than the ED model I bought then).

I found this a useful site, in case you haven't found it yet:

I'm always a little afraid to buy generics that say COMPARE TO [NAME BRAND] on the label. I know what they're implying but one of these days I'm going to get something and have to react "wow, this is complete crap compared to [name brand]!"
