Now that's service.

A few months ago I bought a pair of Shure E3c canalphones, and I have used them almost daily since - pricey, but very good.

This morning I pulled them out of my bag to find that one of the pieces that fits down into the ear had snapped off. Normally I keep them in their hard shell case, but I was in a hurry a couple of days ago and wrapped the earphones around my iPod and slipped it into the slot I use for the iPod. ie, they were still pretty well protected.

Well, there goes $180. I mean, it's a piece of electronics - what does it have, a 90 day warrantee, normally?

Try two years.

Okay, this gives me a little bit of hope. I'm sure it's going to be deemed user abuse, but I call anyway.

They said they'll be happy to replace them.

Dang.

I had the same issue. Not only did they replace them, but the turnaround was *very* quick.

Nice! Worst case scenario, if they decide that it's not covered, and it was indeed entirely my fault, they'll charge me the flat replacement fee of...

$79.

$100 off? I can deal with that. :)
