Alright, who forgot to sacrifice the damned chicken??
The demo gods are angry.
My advisor and I kicked off this little pet project a while back that has been generating quite a bit of interest.
He asked me yesterday about 2pm if I wanted to help him demo it at an IBM conference.
Today.
Oh, and it needed to be moved from the Dual G5 and Dual G4 machines to the two single G4 laptops, cleaned up, optimized, and made to work over an ad hoc network between the two.
So I got to bed just shy of 4am, but damned if it doesn't work as intended now.
So after dragging my very sorry ass out of bed this morning and driving from Raleigh to Chapel Hill to meet him so we can drive halfway back to Raleigh to the conference, we meet up and head out to his car to find... he has a flat tire. And while he has a ready spare, a jack, and a lug wrench, he's missing his jack handle.
By this time it's 9:30, my Jeep is a 20 minutes walk away, and the conference is another 30 min away, getting us there with 5 minutes left in the morning coffee/poster session. D'oh.
So we're waiting for AAA to come rescue him so we can hit the lunch break instead.
(Did I mention it's supposed to dump snow here this afternoon, which is going to make getting home after all of this mess *very* interesting?)
