Well no *wonder*...

We have radiator heat, which is wonderful. The boiler does double duty as the building's hot water heater, which is similarly wonderful.

This winter the skin has been peeling off my fingers, as happens every year in the intense dry and cold. Seems a bit worse this year though.

Then I noticed that while washing dishes, the hot water seemed... hotter. So I took a meat thermometer to it.

144F. Yup, hot enough to cook beef to Medium.

Hmm, maybe gloves would be in order...

(OTOH, the dishes look *fabulous*.)

What's with the "may not be appropriate for minors" weirdness?

Thought police caught up to me.

Seriously, LJ has the ability to set a 'content level' for your journal, what filter you want for others (useful for when at work, for instance), etc.

um... yeah, that's screwy. But on *this* entry? That's... (bleeeeep)ed.

No, I self-tagged my entire journal as 'some adult content', so you have to agree that you're over 14 the first time you read it. :) It shouldn't happen again.

Actually, it auto-censors every post of yours and if you don't have your birthday in your profile you have to click through for each entry. And even if you do have your birthday in your profile, you have to set your journal to not collapse 'adult content.' Stupid, legal ass-covering.

MEH?

Well fuck that then.
