Well apparently the documentation that came with the returned Wii was incorrect, and the Friend Code remained the same. (Either that, or there's some auto-update mojo going on in at least one case, which I doubt...)

And jason0x21, the MAC was the same too.

(My guess is that the documentation is a standard form they send out for all hardware repairs, and in this case it simply didn't require new HW to trigger the code change.)

Anyway, like, woot. SSBB is pretty much insanity incarnate.
