Eventually, this will stop...
Feb. 13th, 2008 06:44 pmBob went back to the vet this morning. Late last night, we had urination outside the box, obsessive licking of the backside (ie, bald), and blood on the floor = suspected urinary tract problem. Possibility of a bone shard having caused ripping in the bowel, however, and the blood was seeping from there, and mixing with urine leakage for whatever reason. (Pain, stress, UTI...) We're hoping it's a UTI. The fact that she wouldn't clean herself (or let us do it) after her *ahem* issues issues is the suspected cause, if it is an infection.
On antibiotics for the next week.

Surprisingly, it's not about the cat...
Feb. 13th, 2008 10:26 pmMy grandma is dying back home. Pneumonia, and she's refusing food, water, and antibiotics. She's tired, and wants to rest. She might not make it through the night, almost certainly won't make it past sunset tomorrow.
I didn't figure she'd last long after moving to the nursing home after Christmas, but I rather hoped she'd make it until our next trip next month. Damn. Her Parkinson's and dementia have progressed to the point that phone calls have been fairly disturbing for both of us in the last few months, so I'm not sure even calling would be useful. She deserves some peace.
Rest well, grandma. We'll miss you.
