For some reason I thought of several people on my friend's list.

Pre-Revolution Russia? Check.

Retro futurism? Check.

Steampunk on ice? Check.

Many of the tram/public transport illos remind me of the alt-history comic Red Star, set in, well, Russia. Especially the depot drawing. I guess the inspiration had to come from somewhere. Cool!

Hunh, haven't heard of that one. Loved Red Son, although that was post-Revolution, and a little more Traditional DC. (Query - what if Kal-El's rocket had landed a few hours later, and hit Siberia instead of Kansas?)

Well, if he landed in DEEP Siberia he would grow up feral, eventually be found by some researcher and lay waste to a lot of Asia, I imagine.

They already did that one, retelling the classic Tarzan with Kal-El as baby Greystoke. :)

I still think one of the more interesting things DC has ever done was their Elseworlds line.

I bet he didn't lay waste to anything, though. :p
