Crossed wires

Prompted by a news article regarding Hepburn's little black dress from Breakfast at Tiffany's going at auction for a staggering $807,000...

I realized that half the time I try and visualize Hepburn in that film, I pull up an image of Maggie McNamara as Bunny Blake in the old Twillight Zone episode _Ring-a-Ding Girl_. I even get the voices confused. Grr.

Now if I could keep from expecting the rest of the A Team to pop in and take out Mr. Yunioshi for crimes against acting, I'd be good.

$807,000

Wow.

I wouldn't have thought any costumes from that movie would go for, well, anything. I mean, I know it was popular and all that, but isn't the presence of Anthony Michael Hall pretty much the knell of doom?

Uh-oh. I foresee an admonitory viewing of breakfast-related movies in your future, so that you can keep them straight.

(You're kidding, right? I know you're kidding.)

Well, you know that my preferred metier for movies is the late-night type, and not so much with the mornings.

Unless you're suggesting that Tiffany's Club was like IHOP and served breakfast until closing...

You know that TV Land is just a network name and not a descriptive for a Fforde video analogue?

(I know, I know, I should talk.)

I'd seen an article last week saying the dress was expected to go for 70,000 pounds. Whoa.

Yeah, they kinda exceeded that expectation a bit.

And come on, Fforde Vvideo would rawk!

You *know* you wanna see the Halliwell sisters give Endora the smackdown she's been asking for...

I need a distraction, or new contacts: I read that as Eudora and wondered why beat a mail client when it's essentially down and buried already....

As for Fforde Vvideo, with all the cop shows only the Internal Affairs types would want to be working enforcement. Hmm. So snag the ones already used to widely-shifting paradigms.

Oh, crap, that means the _Sliders_ guys get to be the keepers of the peace. Agggh.

On the plus side, you only have to pay one team, and they work in parallel.

*rimshot*

Unfortunately, with an infinite universe model, they'd eventually run into the Time Tunnel guys, and it'd all go to hell fast.

Then we're into the end-of-career Heinlein scenarios, and that just isn't good. Oh, wait, that's not film, that's back in books. Whew. Dodged a cat there.

[identity profile] kickaha.livejournal.com 2006-12-06 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
But can you really be certain you dodged that cat?

In this slice, yes. In others, no. Which, given the nature of the thing, no trumps yes, meaning no. Pfui.

Wow, that was a combo I never needed to have enter my brain, thankyouverymuch... *twitch*
