The big windstorms in the news? Yeeeeeeeah, we lost power for a few hours.
Basically about 7:45 to 11:30 tonight.
Meaning we missed both airings of BSG. :P Ah well, thank god SciFi reruns everything to death. I'm sure we'll get four or five copies of it on the DVR before the weekend is over.
The storm was quite amazing - official reports are gusts up to 55mph, but I wouldn't have been shocked if it hit Category 1 gusts, from the way the house *rocked*... as in physically shifted, cracked, groaned, and generally made bad unhappy noises. At one point, we felt the floor sway from a wall of air that hit. And the rain? Oy. Solid. Just solid hammering of water. We went out a bit ago, and there were a tremendous number of *large* trees down. Rather wide regions of the city are dark at the moment, and we passed blocked road after blocked road.
Even felt like a hurricane in that the storm was 'banded'. 3-5 minutes of insane wind and rain, then a minute or two of calm, repeat as necessary until crap happens.
Well, thankfully we have power back. :)
