But you knew that.

Came down with a cold yesterday, and as they usually do with me, it went from 'mild sniffle' to 'lower the boom' in just a few hours. Up most of the night with a mild fever, and the most amazing jaw pain - dunno what that's about, assuming sinus pressure pushing on a nerve.

Anywho, the strangest bit... I've lost my sense of taste. Not smell, my nose is pretty clear now, and I can smell things just fine - but actual taste. To boot, the center of the roof of my mouth, and the center of my tongue, are partially numb. It feels like when you scald the crap out of your mouth, but I've done no such thing. Just woke up this morning like this.

Wacky.

Yeah, I thought about that as well, except that the jaw pain is on the right side only, and the numbness is bilateral on the midline.

Also, I've had problems with that jaw joint over the years (mom has horrible TMJ issues), and I have a cavity in a rear molar on that side that needs to be filled in a couple of weeks, so I think it was a combination of the factors that led to the jaw pain. When I got in the shower this morning, and my head drained a little, the jaw pain went away, but the numbness in the mouth is still *very* much evident. I've also never had that happen before.

Weird.
