Best. Lyric. Evah.

I've been listening to C89.5 online at work recently - peppy synthpop/dance/etc from a high school radio station in Seattle.

The one downside - the playlist is generated almost exclusively by polls of high school students, so it tends to have like 6 songs that they just repeat ad nauseum. Ah well, good for something energetic but not brain-sucking.

However.

_Miracle_ by Cascada has one of the best lines I've ever heard. I was laughing so hard I'm sure the folks in the offices around me thought I'd lost my mind. So imagine the following being sung by a squeaky little Britney-esque voice:

"You cheated on me from behind..."

You're welcome.

c. C. /C Eighty-NINE/!

God, are they even still on?

Yup. Voted something like Best Independent Music Station in the US for 2005, too.

High schools have radio stations? My HS barely had an intercom...

This one does - the students run it, and it's actually one of the most popular stations in Seattle.

That's pretty scary. I bet it's really popular because of paranoid parents wanting to hear what the kids are saying about 'that My Space thing!' :p

LOL

No, no talk, just dance music.

The best part of C89.5 is the Sunday evening program where they play all goth/industrial music for four hours. 6pm to 10pm.

I still remember the night [livejournal.com profile] icebluenothing and I heard them start a song in the middle of the previous one. The unlistenable mess lasted for about a minute, followed by another minute of dead air, then they played something else without comment. I guess "What Does This Button Do" was only an elective then.
