I feel sappy.

As in a maple tree tapped for sap.

Got the biopsy results this morning about 11:30: "severely dysplastic atypical cells" Definitely not a melanoma, definitely pre-cancerous, definitely an indicator. Recommended course of treatment: slice more away! Wheeeeee!

So they say I can have it done anytime in the next couple of months, no hurry, but by end of Jan would be good. I mention that I graduate this semester, and my health insurance runs out 12/31. They say they'll take a look at their schedule and call me back.

At 1pm they call: Can I come in at 2:30? Today? Uh, sure. The plumber was just finishing replacing our hot water heater (oh yeah, it went blorp this weekend as the tank rusted through), so I was able to head out and get the appointment.

Same as before, lidocaine, cut, snip, stitch. Except now the incision is about 1" long, the hole is actually like a quarter, with the skin now all stretched and pulled taut to close it up.

I'm gonna have a sweet scar. :)

I should get the results for the second core sample next week. Small chance of more needing to be removed, depending on whether they figure they have it all.
