Was awakened this morning by ginkgo bringing me a presspot of coffee and a maple-glazed KK donut in bed. (My favorite donuty-type pastry of all time is a maple bar. No one down here has ever heard of a maple bar. They just do not exist. I may as well be asking for a lime phosphate. Krispy Kreme has a maple-glazed donut that's not a bad approximation, however.)

And then I got a Seattle Chocolates Espresso Truffle Bar and a bag of lychee gummis, with the most exquisite little card with fireflies on it.

I am loved.

The North is barbaric, because they have no Cheerwine, RC, or Grits. Few people know what "headache powders" are.

And they think "barbecue" is a verb.
