The OK Corral is no more - hours to gather supplies, set it up, and keep it together, and it was all for naught, the cat went over the top.

You'd think that a 5' barrier would be enough wouldn't you?

Especially for a cat that looks like this?

No, she managed to go right over the top night before last, so I added 2' to it.

Last night she damned near got over *that*. Four times in as many minutes. (I was sleeping in the corral to try and give her something to think about other than getting out...) I grabbed her all four times, and set her down. The fourth, she went back into the cardboard box until this morning. *sigh*

So, this morning [livejournal.com profile] ginkgo went and found a more durable solution...

I bring you... Al-cat-raz!

It's a dog exercise pen with a sheet over the top, firmly clothespinned into place. Nothing in there is high enough for her to hurt herself if she falls (it's only 2' tall), and she seems to like it a lot more since she can see out, and see us as we go about the study.

See? She seems to kind of like it. Okay, maybe not...

No offense, but ...

... the first picture is somewhat dark on my screen and the last picture is almost completely dark. However, I'm glad that you found a solution to keeping Bob and yourselves safe.

The pictures are a bit underexposed to begin with, and Macs and PCs have different default gamma values for display... Macs tend to be lighter for more accurate color correction for the graphics pros. In other words, it looks *slightly* dark on my screen, but still quite visible. I'll tweak it though for the rest of you. ;)

Hey, there's a reason that I specified "my screen." But thanks.

I'll definitely take that to mean you can see detail now. :)

Er, yeah.

Now I have a much better idea of her previous setup, and can understand why she wouldn't be determined to get out of her current one.

Thanks!

Purty kitty... stoopid kitty, but purty kitty. Dopey kitty, too. Which is always fun...

Your ongoing tale of kitty knee surgery reminds me of my own tale, some... long time ago, now. The one restriction we had was that she shouldn't get out on her own, so we rigged up a harness and cinched it tight (very small kitty, smaller than any of the extant dog harnesses), which she loathed. Long, longhair kitty, that we had to walk outside at 2 in the morning when she wanted to poo. She refused indoor amenities. *sigh*

So, bro, I wholly sympathize. Stoopid kitties.
