Yeah, I actually met with the attorney today, and he was sheepish about the whole thing. Turns out he's a Unix head, and has been pushing for open format adoption, but is the lone voice of reason in the firm. He mentioned how WP used to the be standard and he didn't mind it at all, but now Word is what everyone sends them by default, and they decided to cave in.
