Oh! Oh! Forgot one other voting reform I'd do if I were in charge...

Voting would be for one 24-hour block, period. No more 'East coast finished up before West coast' crap and 'early returns'. All polls open at the same moment, and all polls close at the same moment. Nobody gets to use 'well so-and-so was already going to win' as an excuse to not vote.

I couldn't agree more

I've often thought this was a cheap way out for those on the West coast. Shoot, NM (I think that was one of the close ones) may have had a wider race in 2000 if they didn't know what the hell was going on out here in the %&^%%$%$ up East coast :)

I wouldn't mind having the poll hours staggered for time zone differences, but just don't let anyone start reporting results until after ALL the polls are closed.

You'd also have to make exit polling illegal. It's not 100% accurate, but it could also sway voters if released early. See: Florida panhandle.

I meant to include that in the "results". You can take an exit poll, but you can't release the results until the last of the polls have closed. Although personally, I wouldn't mind doing away with them altogether.
