Hrmm. One of the things that's unclear to me from the surface-skimming articles I've read (haven't bothered to pop onto PubMed just yet) is whether it's a real gene locus being passed on, or some sort of chromosomal imprinting that's taking place in utero. I'd be interested in hearing the speculations, if you wouldn't mind passing them on. =-)
