Showdown at the O(bstinate) K(itty) Corral...

Bob (the cat) is home from her knee reconstruction. She's really unhappy at being in the kitty jail though.

She's not supposed to get up or down on/off anything that's more than 6" tall for four weeks. Do you have any idea how hard it is to make a space like that in one's house? Bathroom? Nope, tub edge, toilet, and sink. We have a small place, and no single room that is empty or close to it. (Hell, we have four couches downstairs - one had to go in the dining room.) What to do, what to do.

I sectioned off a 8'x6' area in the study with cardboard about 5.5-6' tall, placed her futon mattress flat in there, with her litter box, food, water, scratch pad, etc. The bookcases are sealed off with wood veneer sheets (all wood and cardboard donated by a local furniture store from their recycle pile). She can't see out a window, she can't see anything but brown cardboard.

She's doing well though - has a pain med patch, four big sutures in her leg, and several shaved areas. (Left rear ankle for pain patch, right front leg for IV, right rear leg from foot to hip.) She's just not happy.

I think I'll sleep on half the futon pad tonight and keep her company.

I have some ideas about how to get her a ramp (doc said was okay) up to the window so she isn't totally bonkers in a month.
