9:45am tomorrow I'm to arrive at the Ambulatory Care Center for my 10:50 procedure. I'm electing to forego the nerve block.

Whoo.

Whee.

I'm sure she will. :)

Just talked to the surgeon, and he agreed to the lack of nerve block. "You do realize you're going to hurt when you wake up, right? And that you still need to move it and stretch it?" "Yup." "Okay, as long as you know it's going to hurt like hell." "Yup." In fact, I have enough time that I should be able to see the physical therapist directly afterwards. Eek.

They're going to do a mild local instead - he said it'll take the edge off for a couple of hours instead of the 24-36 of a block, and not go near the nerves.

Keepin' fingers crossed.

Not that I'm doubting that much will go wrong, and that everything will go quite smoothly. But just in case, having as many fingers and toes I can get my hands on will help.

And if you want to psychically disperse some of your pain vibes, send some my way and I'll deal with 'em for ya. ;-)

I'll try. :)

Last time around, we walked in the door, got him settled, I posted to LJ that he was doing well and at home... and mere minutes later, he was doing the same. Can't keep a good man down.

He hopes to go straight from the procedure to a physical therapy appointment, so everything *should* go well.

I might be packing a few cold compresses for tomorrow, though. ;)

Thanks for all of the positive vibes.
