They're soooooo good when they're backed by companies that will actually pay good money for good catering. Corporate conferences are so much better than the academic ones, at least with respect to open bars.
We didn't even get fucking *COFFEE* yesterday morning, much less muffins, rolls or anything. We had to pay for our own lunches, and I'm still not sure about dinner.
And this was just IBM and one of the biggest banks in the world, the cheap bastards.
