I lost my grandfather in '95. I still cry when I think about how much I miss him. Especially at the holidays. His birthday was December 20th (as was his older sister's) and we always had a family birthday celebration either before or after Xmas. Things just feel incomplete without him there.

I actually was messing around on my old computer (the apple that I got in '91 or thereabouts) a couple of years ago, and one of the sound bites that was recorded on it was his voice. I'd been playing with the microphone, and he was around, so he was drafted to say something so that I could test the thing out. I just about lost it completely when I heard the clip, but it was wonderful, too.
