Some things transcend cultures

Darned if they aren't awfully similar in many ways, although Dead Snow gets props for use of Ode to Joy.
1) Fun + sex prior to mayhem: check.
2) Older person schooling the young un's on the local history: check.
3) Blonde girl seeing 'someone in the woods': check.
4) NUMBERS! ON! SCREEN!: check. (Although Dead Snow's is funnier.)
Of the two, Dead Snow looks like a lot more fun.
