Just submitted a paper to a conference.

The first one in almost three years.

On the research I've been doing for the past year.

And you know what, it's possibly the best paper I've ever written, easily top three. If this bastard doesn't get accepted, I'm gonna be steamed. This is good shit, mon. It's just chock full of kernels of goodness.

*AND*.... ***AND***... I had two whole hours to spare before the deadline. :D

Now, I go home and sleep like the dead for a while. Then I clean the house. Then I do dishes. Then I sleep. Then maybe if it's not already Monday I'll celebrate a bit.

[livejournal.com profile] ginkgo went to the County Archives Attic Sale today - people donate all sorts of interesting stuff to the County Archives for fundraising, and today was their big day. Last year we picked up two official platte maps of our town, one from 1854 I think, and one from 1881, that we're going to have framed. (They're neat, one has the old town name, one has the new one.)

Today she bought a DeLonghi Bar29 espresso machine, used, for $18.* It was kind of dirty, but on second look it looked more like 'this was put in a garage on a shelf' dirt instead of 'it was never cleaned' dirt.

We wiped it down, we pulled it apart, and... we think it was used once. The coffee residue all came off with a dry cloth leaving pristine metal. The water tank had no deposits.

It works beautifully.

I may not sleep again.

*To finally replace the Krups that died months and months ago. Being without a functioning espresso machine was like having my Pacific NW soul ripped out.
