FInally started scanning in old statements and crap, files I've been hauling around for over a decade for no good reason. (Really, is there any need for phone bills from 1993?) Unfortunately, I'm a data packrat, and can't bear to throw away anything with information on it.

Hence, a Fujitsu ScanSnap.

Condensed a stack storage box of paper about 15" high into 300MB under 450MB. Not bad - storage box onto a CD-R with room to spare. A little OCR on the resulting PDFs, and they're searchable to boot. At this rate, I'll be done in a few weeks. :P

It's oddly satisfying to do this, however, and the filing cabinets can be used for the storage of non-scannable physical objects instead. :)
