Schlock film director and egomaniac Uwe Boll says he'll *retire from directing* if he is presented with a petition for him to do so... with one million signatures.

While he's obviously in this just for the attention, and there's not a prayer of him following through, it'd be fun to see him make more of an ass of himself.

Climbing recently, I got to the top of the wall, and realized I hadn't looked down once. You get into this groove, where the only part of the wall that exists is the area between your feet, and about 5' above you. 35' below me was the floor, but it didn't really trigger a parallax until I focussed on it. The mind just sort of flattens out anything it doesn't want to process.

So I made myself *see* the distance involved. A little butterfly in the stomach, and I decided that I'll trust my body's survival tactics.

Kind of a good philosophy for life, if you ask me. The higher you climb, the further you have to fall and crash... best not to think about, instead just focus on what's in front of your face, and your next moves. What's above you isn't in your control yet, what's below you, you've conquered and it can't hurt you.

Just make sure your belay line is knotted well. ;)
