Now this is coffee
Mar. 29th, 2006 07:30 pmThere's a Colombian Coffeehouse here in town - made from real Columbians. No seriously, a bunch of fair-trade farmers decided to take the next logical step, and they own the coffee shop up here too. They grow, roast, ship, brew, and sell the stuff from soil to saucer. *Wonderful* coffee, and they have a ton of drink varieties that I haven't seen before. So when I try a new one, I'll post about it just to annoy you all.
Today: Carajillo. Coffee, with anise, lightly sweetened. OMFG is this good. Now, I'm an anise whore (especially if it's in an alcohol suspension - pastis, ouzo, sambuca, salmiakki... bring 'em on), but
ginkgo is most definitely not. Her reaction? "Wow, that's *good*." First time I think I've ever seen her express pleasure at something involving black licorice or anise. Excellent flavor combination.
