Wow.

I just got complimented on my first-gen original iPod (still on the same battery, beeyatches!).

"Cool. Retro."

RETRO?!? WTF??

God forbid I haul out my Sports Walkman...

Hey, don't diss the retro. I'm dressed in classic 80's chic today, complete with jean skirt, oversized mens shirt and converse low tops (grey, of course). I look like I stepped out out of a Tears for Fears video.

The sad part.... half of the people I dealt with at the counter today are too young to remember the 80's well, let alone Tears for Fears videos...(heck, probably too young to remember real videos at all...)

I'm going to go find my first generation Nano, and my cane, now. Ug.

Naw, the thing that floored me was that something from *2001* was considered retro. W. T. F?

And I know exactly what you mean. Recently I was looking for the lyrics to Mad World, and found them online, with discussion. Someone said, and I'm totally not making this up... "Jeez, you don't even know where the song's from originally, do you? Donnie Darko!"

I just walked away.

2001. I remember that year. I was actually in the black that year. And then I started grad school. Ah.... *nostalgia*

and OMFG, when BSG used "All Along the Watchtower" and at least half who saw it seemed to think it was a copy of a U2 song. And half of the remaining half thought it was Jimi Hendrix who done it originally. Which I can almost forgive.

Am I that old? Of course, I'm sitting here & listening to Carol King....

Damn these kids. and "Speak into the horn, sonny!"
