*laugh* I thought the same thing about the X-Wings.

That's okay, I went to great pains to explain to my two little nephews and niece last week what the difference is between a geek and a nerd. It started out with us discussing the Transformers movie, which I'd seen the night before.

Elder Nephew: "Will you take us to go see it?!?"

Me: "No, you need to have your folks take you."

Elder Nephew: "Why not?"

Me: "Because it wasn't good enough for me to spend money on again, that's why..."

Niece: "What were you doing at a *KID'S* movie?? You're an *ADULT*!"

Me: "Hon, I watched the original cartoon when it aired on TV 20 years ago, I went and saw the *first* Transformers movie in the theatre, and I *still* have a bunch of the toys."

Niece: "You're starting to creep me out..."

Me: "I'm not creepy, I'm a geek."

Elder Nephew: "You mean a nerd."

Me: "Naw, I'm a big ol' geek."

Elder Nephew: "Same thing."

Me: "Nope. A geek is a nerd with social skills."

Elder Nephew: (grinning from ear to ear) "What social skills?"

Wrestling ensued. :)
