I don't think it's a "movement", my friend. For a movement requires motion, and the observations you make above, while accurate and correct, are not by any stretch of the imagination new. The vast majority of humanity not only can't think for themselves, *they don't want to*. And as long as it serves the political elites of both parties that the electorate be sheep, sheep they will remain. Public education will never train the masses to think, or even teach them that thinking is a useful skill. Persons who think for themselves are persons who demand real solutions to real problems, even if those solutions (and problems!) are complex and impossible to summarize in a twelve-second sound bite. No way the entrenched power structure allows that to happen, when they can perpetuate their stranglehold on the nation with made-up problems and simple "solutions" that allow them to look like they're trying to solve a problem, without actually fixing it and working themselves out of a sinecure.
I shan't discuss my proposed solution here, but maybe over that beer you promised me... :)
