I love it when a plan comes together...
There are few things more satisfying than going to a former committee member (who I happen to respect a lot), and saying "Remember that [insert wacko idea here] idea you gave me such grief over in my dissertation? Yeah. It works. And I have a formalism. And it models things that most people would consider impossible. And oh, btw, I kick ass."
One of those more satisfying things is having him reply "I love it. Let's collaborate."
