Manhattan earthquake!

Okay, not really, but check out this google maps image shot: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=new+york,ny&ie=UTF8&om=1&z=18&ll=40.748127,-73.987075&spn=0.002329,0.005203&t=h&iwloc=addr

The building upper right is the Empire State Building. Note the angles. Now look at the building lower left.

The sun shadows line up correctly though. Wacky, eh? (yes, the building lower left is rotated 30deg or so on Broadway, but there's still something odd going on there...)

I'm going to vote for "This is the edge between two subsequent pictures taken from a plane".

Ayup. Nice photo stitching.

Your link is breaking my friend page! You're only forgiven because that comedy video made me giggle for hours the other day. ;)

Great weird shot, thanks. On a non-weird aspect of this picture, I love the almost-down-the-chimney effect of the hollow building due left of the Empire State Building.

I'd like to see what they use to stitch those pictures together (on the presumption that it's an automatic process), that's a pretty good merge...

Ain't it though? I'm thinking it's not automatic - check out the street running NS just left of the lower left building - that's the stitch point from what I can see, and it looks like they layered the buildings on the right side (leaning left) over the street image from the left side (leaning right).
