Oh, wait, that's not what you asked. The answer's still "no", though--each save slot (at least on the Gamecube) is fully independent of the others.
I don't even know if there's a provision in LSWII to select which LSWI game save you want to use in "Use old saves", as we only have the one LSWI save.
