The darnedest thing...

I have a trick I use when composing an email draft that I don't want to accidentally send, I type the name 'noone' in the To field. Why? Because eons ago I worked with an emailer that wouldn't let you leave that field blank before composing the mail, and I got into the habit.

It's nice, because while you could type in the name of the person you want to send it to, appended with 'notyet' or something, autocompletion of names frequently makes that more troublesome than not. Silly, but true.

Anyway, today at work I did that, and the LDAP autosearch popped up someone with that last name, filled out the address completely for someone in the UK. Poop. I guess I have to hope nobody has the last name 'nobody'.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

'No Body Messages' in *Brazil*!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

BASTARDS!

grr.

I don't have viruses and I don't even know what a kernel panic is, so YOUR ARGUMENT IS RENDERED MOOT

*munches cookies*

Kernel panic = BSOD. I bet you know what those are. ;)

And regarding the rest, well... http://doodleplex.com/glassmaze/?p=447

;)

Oh I know what they are but I haven't seen one in a long time. :p

Re: Zune: Don't look at me, man, I don't buy MS products BECAUSE they're MS products. Unlike, say, Mac zealots. :p

[identity profile] georgmi.livejournal.com 2006-12-06 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
That's why most Mac zealots don't buy MS products, too--BECAUSE they're MS products.

I buy MS products because I get 'em for COGS at the Company Store.

[identity profile] kickaha.livejournal.com 2006-12-06 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Hard to beat the price... heck, I bought MS Office at UNC. At $10, it was actually worth it to have on hand. ;)

[identity profile] kickaha.livejournal.com 2006-12-06 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Feh. I buy the best product for my needs, regardless of brand. Not my fault they keep knockin' em out of the park. :D

So... why *do* you buy MS products? Gaming?

[identity profile] franktheavenger.livejournal.com 2006-12-06 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Primarily. I mean the only MS products I have are my OS and what comes bundled with it. I think the last time I actually paid for a seperate MS product was when I bought Frontpage like six years ago, before I realized there were free HTML editor out there that were comparable.

I am not an MS guy. I just buy what works. :)

[identity profile] kickaha.livejournal.com 2006-12-06 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, you're a gamer, and that's where they are.

Well, except for consoles. Why not get a Wii?

*ducks, runs like hell*

:D

[identity profile] franktheavenger.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
I have an xbox, a 360 and a PS2. I'm still undecided on a Wii. I'm not getting a PS3 because Sony sucks. :p

Dude, I think I was *at* that meeting.

[identity profile] badger.livejournal.com 2006-12-06 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
As I said recently, invoking _Ghostbusters_:
"There is no iPod, only Zune."

[identity profile] kickaha.livejournal.com 2006-12-06 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
...

And you were bitching about *my* puns???

[identity profile] badger.livejournal.com 2006-12-06 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, puns in general - long story. I rarely make them, honestly. But I do concede your point. Pun away, Mr. Kickaha, pun away.

[identity profile] franktheavenger.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
Oh god don't tell him that! He will!

[identity profile] badger.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
I know, I know. a) It's penance. Long story. b) No one's mentioning _The Usual Suspects_ reference I threw in there. Peasants, all of you. c) I haven't felt like Dr. Frankenstein for at least a week. Now I can feel as though I've unleashed something. d) I think c) is me fooling myself, anyway. You think that I've actually affected his behavior with that? I don't.
