[livejournal.com profile] ginkgo and I went into Manhattan yesterday for the doc appt, and decided to stick around and have dinner. And boy howdy did we find a fantastic place.

Imagine, if you will...

An elegant lobby of one of the ritziest hotels in Manhattan, with vaulted cathedral ceilings 4 stories high, and thousand dollar suits abounding. The long velvet drapes to the right of the reception desk hide a secret... pass through the narrow gap, spy the lit stylized hamburger at the end with the arrow, and follow it around to the right.

You'll step into a tiny college dive burger joint, complete with faux wood panelling, vinyl seats, and graffiti everywhere. $6 gets you a fantastic cheeseburger with the works, $3 for pretty darned good fries, and they even have beer. (For midtown, that's not expensive, trust us.) The food was amazing (it rivals Five Guys, easily - there was some debate over which is better), and reading the autographs on the wall was pretty fun. Definitely one to go back to... and keep from getting overrun.

Come visit us, and we'll let you in on the secret. Shhhhhh. ;)

Ha! I know where it is.

But we still have to come visit to actually eat there.

Yay!

My favorite part is how relaxed I felt there.

You never write, you never call... what do you expect? ;)

See, now if you'd gotten up here for training, we could have shown you the Seekrit Burger Place.

So... how'd the doctor go? Was he any better? Did he have any clever ideas?

Different doctor. *MUCH* more communicative. He listened, he spoke, he hypothesized, he corrected, he asked. Huge step up from the previous one.

There are theories, blood is being tested, back in three weeks.
