Whee!

Went to doc this morning.

I have a CAT scan appt for next week for da brainmeats, and they took four vials of my precious bodily fluids (the red kind) for processing, cataloging, and tagging.

When I actually sat down and wrote out every symptom I had over that 24 hr period, it was kind of astonishing, really. A whole realm of gobbledygoo that may or may not be related, but... interesting.

Another interesting point: that heightened visual acuity? I *can* get it back, to an extent... if I concentrate a tad, things jump into insane focus. I can individual pixels on this laptop screen, for instance, or count blades of grass on the lawn a hundred feet away. It goes away as soon as I stop thinking about it, and there's a bit of tension to do it, but I *can*. I have *lousy* eyesight, generally, so this is just nuts, but I'll take it. The only other time I've had something similar, I was 16, had massive headpains in the same spot that the 'pop' happened Tue night, and went blind for an hour. I wonder if some bit of the visual cortex woke up Tue night after almost two decades. (Diagnosis back then was: we dunno, stress-induced migraine maybe.)

Does that cool 6-million-dollar man sound effect play when you're in the process of focusing in on something?

;-P

No, but it darned well should. It's the freakiest thing.

Oh, and it's not like a zoom on a camera, it's just... it just gets *crisp* if that makes sense. Details pop out.

Maybe you're finally getting your superpowers!

Sweet.

Still waiting on the quantum-level telekinesis though.

ah - the new glasses feeling. Super cool to get it without a hardware upgrade.

How can you be certain you don't already have quantum-level telekinesis?

[identity profile] kickaha.livejournal.com 2006-05-05 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Because I haven't been able to convince all the quarks in my body to tunnel to Seattle en masse, that's why. :P

Hmmm, I'm worried. . . and too far away for it to make a difference... :(

Holy shit, I wander away from Finals and all the sudden you're doing weird things with your vision and getting your brain meats fucked with by the Doctor People.

*hugs* I'll think good thoughts in your general direction, babe. Keep us updated

Maybe that says something about Seattle, not your telekinesis. ;)

Eh, the time to worry is when he doesn't blog about it. :D

I've been trying to get him to see a doc about this for 10 years now, so I'm thrilled he's going. He's taking far better care of himself than he ever has, and, while this episode was more intense than normal, they're becoming less common in general. Hooray!

That just means you suck at it. :b

I mean, I have to donate my Toll House cookies to the local hockey team. That doesn't mean I'm physically incapable of making cookies.

Hee. Thanks bip. For me, this is just 'normal'... well, mostly 'normal'. I've had these 'low blood sugar' episodes more or less my entire life, so it was just one of my endearing quirks. No doctor has ever been able to find a lab-result proof of hypoglycemia, but they all swear that's what it is, because it does look an awful lot like it.

*THIS* time though, it took on a whole new level of symptoms, so... to the Doc!

And you know, when stuff in your head goes 'pop,' that's a BAD THING. For future reference. I shouldn't have to tell a doctor this. :p
