Oh, the timing is *excellent*.
I'm having shoulder surgery next Friday, and will be in this massive arm brace for six weeks.
I have a major conference paper due Tuesday. That I haven't really started.
My grandmother called tonight to let me know that my grandfather is deathly ill, and not expected to come out of the hospital.
This happened once before, and I raced home to WA state, only to find him in better shape than he'd been in in years. *sigh*
Oy.
