Home sweet home

Well, we found a place, finally. Signed the lease and everything.
Quick rundown, pics to come later...
1100sq ft, the entire 3rd floor of a painted lady Victorian house in Ossining, NY. It overlooks the Hudson, and since we have windows on all four sides, the views are kinda nice. Downside is, the windows are a mite small, but they *do* open, so cross-breezes will be nice in the summer, assisted by the ceiling fans. Hardwood floors, new gas range, and it's all been spruced up nicely. Unfortunately, there's no washer/dryer in the unit, or a dishwasher. :/ (3rd floor of a historic wood building + water leaks = baaaaad.) So, laundromat or a laundry service are options. It has a nice porch out front though, with comfy chairs and a table, for enjoying warm evenings.
I'm bummed that we won't have a yard for Bob*, but this is just for a year. The landlord lives on the first floor, and he and his wife are Portuguese, and extremely nice.
Woot for having a new home.
*Her second biopsy results came back, and they're negative for cancer again - looks like she has FORL instead, which while annoying, isn't life-threatening. We just need to stay on top of her tooth health a little more closely, and the impact can be minimized.
